[Hiring] Medical Intake Coordinator @Compass Health Center

Role Description

The Medical Intake Coordinator is responsible for the medical registration of new patients and collaborating with multidisciplinary team members to communicate patient health information that requires treatment planning and/or further medical consultation. The schedule for this position will be Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm CST.

• Manages the medical registration process of patients entering the healthcare facility
• Provides administrative support to the Nursing Department and Psychiatry Department
• Collects and documents intake information such as medication and health history
• Communicates and collaborates with the nursing team regarding intake information
• Collects and documents vital signs, height, weight
• Drafts medical documentation and lab orders under the direction of the psychiatry provider
• Transcribes medical information to patient’s charts & communicates pertinent information to the treatment team
• Maintains confidentiality in matters related to patient, family, and client facility staff
• Provides supplementary assistance with infection control and prevention measures
• Manages medication, medical supply, and equipment inventory
• Initiates Prior Authorizations for medications and diagnostic tests
• Participates in professional development activities
• Performs all other duties within the scope of training as assigned by the Director of Nursing

Qualifications

• Exceptional interpersonal and therapeutic communication skills
• Robust organizational and time management skills, with noteworthy attention to detail
• Team player with adaptiveness and agility
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy (highly preferred)
• Medical Assistant (preferred)
• Current CPR certification (preferred)
• Working knowledge of pharmaceuticals (preferred)
• Experience in mental health care (preferred)

Requirements

• Often required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach forward with hands and arms
• Occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, or crouch
• The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Compensation

$20 — $23 USD
