Role Description

This position performs oncology registry case finding and follow-up in accordance with standards set by the Commission on Cancer (CoC) and the Pennsylvania Cancer Registry (PCR).

Essential Responsibilities

• Identifies reportable cases for inclusion into the cancer registry database. (45%)
• Maintains successful follow-up rates by utilizing various Electronic Health Record (EHR) sources. (45%)
• Initiates abstraction of required data elements. (10%)
• Other duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in healthcare related field or relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of Associate's degree.
• 1 year of experience in knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and/or medical terminology.

Preferred

• Experience with analyzing and interpreting medical and treatment information.
• Experience with working across all disciplines to collect cancer data.
• Experience working with EPIC.
• Oncology registry experience.
• Certified Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) exam eligible.
• Registered Health Information Technician/Administrator (RHIT/RHIA) or exam eligible.

Benefits

• Pay Range Minimum: $20.12
• Pay Range Maximum: $33.11
• Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations.
