[Hiring] Medical Content Specialist @Inizio Medical

Role Description

Inizio Medical is growing! We are expanding our team of Medical Content Specialists based in South Africa. Our South Africa team collaborates with global teams in ApotheCom, Nucleus Global, and Ashfield MedComms across the US, UK, EU, and Asia, providing opportunities to work on cutting-edge projects at the forefront of drug development and commercialization.

Underpinned by world-class medical analytics capabilities and applied AI tools, Inizio Medical redefines the role of medical affairs in drug development and commercialization.

You are responsible for:

• Accuracy checks of scientific content drafted by medical writers and/or clients
• Managing citations, including sourcing and marking up references, uploading to and linking on document review platforms
• Generating data tables and simple figures
• Collating medical journal metrics from online databases
• Extracting data from scientific papers for consideration in systematic literature reviews
• Checking alignment of manuscript content to standard reporting guidelines
• Performing program landscaping for key international conferences

Qualifications

• Minimum of an honours degree in biomedical sciences or a related area
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to generate materials to a high standard and quality, with minimal internal review/assistance
• Excellent project-management and organisational skills
• Flexibility, adaptability, and resourcefulness
• Good time management skills
• Judgment and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent quality control skills and meticulous eye for detail – style/consistency, grammar, scientific accuracy, proof-reading, layout, etc.
• Strong sense of responsibility and urgency; ability to take ownership of projects
• Ability to work independently under limited supervision
• Solid understanding of human pathophysiology and disease; ability to learn new and diverse subject areas quickly
• Ability to work within a team and form productive working relationships within, and across, Inizio Medical
• Flexibility and ability to manage simultaneous priorities, changing deadlines, and limited resources
• IT skills – Word, PowerPoint, Endnote, basic Excel
