Role Description

We are seeking a skilled Remote Medical Coder to join our team on a part-time basis. As a Remote Medical Coder, you will be responsible for accurately assigning medical codes to patient records, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulations. This is a remote position, allowing you to work from the comfort of your own home.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and accurately assign medical codes to patient records using ICD-10 and CPT coding systems
• Ensure all codes are in compliance with coding guidelines and regulations
• Work closely with healthcare providers to clarify any coding discrepancies
• Maintain a thorough understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnoses
• Keep up-to-date with changes in coding guidelines and regulations
• Meet productivity and quality standards set by the company
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of medical coding experience, preferably in a chiropractic setting
• Proficient in ICD-10 and CPT coding systems
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Comfortable working remotely and using electronic medical records systems
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality

Requirements

• This is a part-time, remote position with flexible hours.
• The contract will be for an initial period of 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance.
