[Hiring] Medical Billing Specialist @NorthStar Care

Role Description

We are looking for a Medical Billing Specialist to assist with organizing patient medical costs and sending invoices to collect payment from patients and their insurers. Additionally, you will be responsible for obtaining pre-authorization for incoming patients. This position will report directly to NorthStar’s VP of Finance.

• Perform posting charges
• Perform completion of claims to payers
• Conduct duties in a professional and timely fashion
• Submit billing data to the appropriate insurance providers
• Process claims
• Resolve denial instances
• Achieve maximum reimbursement for services provided
• Deploy, maintain and report on various programs
• Obtaining Pre-Authorizations from various insurance companies as needed
• Obtaining Verification of Benefits from various insurance companies

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• 3 years' experience in medical billing
• Strong computer skills, such as sending emails, typing, and using spreadsheets
• Experience with Collaborate MD, Availity, or LightningStep is a bonus
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Willingness to be flexible in adjusting to new and changing situations

• Salary between $40,000 and $70,000 based on experience and qualifications
