Role Description
We are currently seeking a Full-Time Medical Billing Associate to join our growing team. Under the direct supervision of the Accounting Supervisor, the Medical Billing Associate performs clerical accounting and billing requiring analysis and individual judgement in the application of accounting procedures.
Essential Job Functions

Processes billing for Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurances, and self-payments for Liberty Resources billing.

Assists the Finance department in creating timely and accurate financial statements, administers billing and special financial projects.

Handles customer service issues with vendors and interfaces with clients regarding billing concerns.

Performs accounting functions, compiles billing statements, held claim reports, and denial reports.

Assists in quality assurance verification of Finance department work.

Applies receipts to claims for co-pays, insurance payments, and write-offs.

Researches and resolves payment discrepancies.

Creates finance-related reports as needed/requested utilizing Evolv, Ceridian, MIP, Excel, and Word.

Assists in processes related to various accounting functions to include: general ledger, financial statements, annual audit, site audits, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, purchasing, Medicaid billing.
Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for coverage within the Finance Department to include but not limited to payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, vouchering, daily deposits, and purchasing.

Assists in reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and sub ledgers including accounts receivable and accounts payable.

Carries out agency policies and procedures while participating in the daily routine of the agency.

Maintains effective professional relationships with agency staff, service providers, and community organizations in the interest of clients and department goals.

Attends and participates in individual supervisory conferences, staff meetings, training sessions, special projects, and professional development opportunities as required.

Handles emergency situations that may require flexibility of time and area of assignment.

Qualifications

Associates degree required; Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred.

At least 2 years medical billing experience working in a medical setting with exceptional customer service skills.
Required Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of well-defined accounting office practices and procedures is important.

Must be proficient in report writing, data entry, word-processing, database management, spreadsheet applications such as Microsoft Excel, preferably Microsoft Office.

Prior experience with Ceridian and/or MIP preferred.

Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
