• Process and submit medical claims to insurance carriers, including commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid payers
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to and during the billing cycle
• Review and resolve claim denials, rejections, and underpayments through appeals and follow-up
• Post payments, adjustments, and patient balances accurately in billing software
• Communicate with insurance companies, providers, and patients to resolve billing inquiries
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding claims in a timely manner
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and payer-specific billing guidelines

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in medical billing, coding, or eligibility verification for Mental Health required
• 1-3 years of proficiency with medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) Advanced MD required
• Work hours 11am-7pm and some weekends
• Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing processes
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• CPC, CPB, or related billing/coding certification is a plus
