[Hiring] MDS System Coordinator @State of North Dakota

Role Description

Medical Services is seeking a Minimum Data Set (MDS) Systems Coordinator within North Dakota. As our MDS Systems Coordinator, you will provide program and technical oversight of the nursing facility classification system based on the Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments used to reimburse nursing facility services.

• Serve as the subject matter expert for the classification system, offering training and technical assistance to providers.
• Support the administration and implementation of quarterly and annual rate updates in alignment with state and federal requirements.
• Interpret and apply state and federal regulations to MDS classification requirements, ensuring the system remains accurate, compliant, and up to date.
• Assist nursing facilities by phone, analyzing issues, answering questions, and serving as a reliable problem solver.
• Work with providers to schedule support at times that meet their operational needs.
• Bring energy and initiative, taking on additional responsibilities as needed to support continued growth and improvement.
• Communicate clearly and consistently across multiple platforms with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Help stakeholders understand regulatory expectations and practical steps for compliance with state and federal guidelines.
• Think proactively, identify potential issues before they escalate, and explain solutions clearly.
• Shift priorities when urgent matters arise, navigate multiple systems with confidence, and balance independent work with strong teamwork.
• Recognize when to elevate issues to ensure timely and effective resolution.

Location: This position is remote in North Dakota or surrounding communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and one (1) year of experience in a healthcare reimbursement program, program administration, data analysis, information systems support, or a closely related field.
• Or a high school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of relevant experience as listed above.
