Role Description
The Primary Care MD will provide direct patient care to pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients. This responsibility includes:

Provision of and attention to the care of major and minor illnesses

Long range issues of health and disease

Needs for specialty consultation
Receives administrative support from a Practice Manager. Instill the IMS mission, vision, and values in the work performed.

Assess patient needs and arrange for specialty referrals, diagnostic and in-patient care

Document patient information and visit information into IMS' Electronic Health Record in an accurate and timely manner
-
Provide patients and family members with counseling and education regarding health maintenance, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and need for follow up as appropriate during each patient visit

Verify and document that the patient understands diagnosis, treatment, and follow up recommendations
-
Provide consultation to nurse clinicians and nurse practitioners
-
Render care to patients in accordance with quality and standards established by IMS, community standards of care, applicable law, and according to state and federal grant requirements for non-discrimination
-
Provide patient care via telehealth when applicable
-
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Doctor of medicine degree from an accredited school of medicine

Current license to practice medicine in the United States

Board Certification or eligible for board certification
