[Hiring] Lead Pharmacy Technician @Ascension

Role Description

Lead pharmacy services staff in daily operations, serving as a subject matter expert and resource to pharmacists, clinical leadership, and cross-site pharmacy teams.

• Coordinate shift activities by assigning, monitoring, and reviewing work.
• Oversee pharmacy technician performance and address scheduling and operational issues as needed.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures by monitoring adherence, reporting findings, and supporting departmental problem-solving initiatives.
• Contribute to workforce development by providing input on hiring, training, staff development, and performance evaluation.
• Support specialty projects as assigned by Pharmacy Management.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Requirements

• This technician position will support an embedded specialty pharmacist working in a pediatric specialty office.
• Fully remote position. Monday - Friday 8 AM - 4:30 PM. No evenings, weekends or holidays.
