Role Description

The Clinical Lead is a senior behavioral health clinician who combines direct patient care with clinical supervision, consultation, quality oversight, and clinician development. Working closely with the Medical Director and Clinic Operations, this role helps establish and maintain consistent standards for assessment, treatment, risk management, documentation, care transitions, and patient experience across a remote, multistate practice.

Patient care

  • Triage and assess patients through telehealth within the clinicianโ€™s training, experience, and scope of practice.
  • Complete biopsychosocial assessments and provide mental health diagnoses, risk assessments, treatment recommendations, and care plans.
  • Provide brief, evidence-based therapeutic interventions, crisis intervention, and clinical consultation appropriate to the patientโ€™s needs.
  • Initiate referrals to inpatient psychiatric care, outpatient behavioral health services, or other levels of care when indicated.
  • Support care transitions until appropriate ongoing services are established.
  • Document the assessment, clinical rationale, risk findings, recommendations, and plan in the electronic health record.
  • Educate patients and families and collaborate with physicians and other members of the care team.
  • Maintain an active caseload while meeting documentation and follow-up expectations.

Clinical supervision and leadership

  • Provide individual or group clinical supervision consistent with professional and state requirements.
  • Meet monthly with assigned clinicians and facilitate two behavioral health clinical team meetings each month.
  • Provide timely consultation on complex cases, risk, crisis response, documentation, referrals, and care transitions.
  • Review clinical documentation and cases and provide clear, constructive feedback.
  • Support clinician onboarding, development, and continuing clinical competence.
  • Participate in clinician interviews and provide input on clinical qualifications and fit.
  • Use chart review, outcome information, patient feedback, and consultation themes to identify opportunities to improve care.
  • Contribute behavioral health expertise to clinical protocols, training, quality improvement, and care-delivery workflows.
  • Communicate significant clinical, safety, or competency concerns to the Medical Director.
  • Partner with Clinic Operations on coverage, workflows, and issues affecting patients or clinicians.
  • Participate and provide recommendations in the Credentialing committee.
  • Review and update clinical policies based on strictest state where services are provided.
  • Conduct quarterly chart reviews.

Qualifications

  • Master of Social Work from a CSWE-accredited university.
  • Active, unrestricted independent clinical social work license in good standing, such as LCSW, LICSW, or state equivalent.
  • Meets applicable state requirements to provide clinical supervision in one or more states where Aduro provides care, including training and at least 3 years from initial licensure.
  • At least five years of post-graduate behavioral health clinical experience.
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership, case consultation, mentorship, or supervision experience. Formal clinical supervision experience is preferred.
  • Experience providing behavioral health assessment, diagnosis, risk assessment, crisis response, brief intervention, referral, and care-transition support.
  • Experience in telehealth and electronic health record documentation.
  • Experience working with children or adolescents is preferred.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, collaboration, and feedback skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and support clinicians in a remote, multistate practice.
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain additional state licenses based on patient and program needs.

Requirements

  • At hire, candidates must hold an independent clinical social work license in at least one priority state: Washington, Alaska, California, Montana, Oregon, New Mexico, Ohio, or Texas.
  • Additional licenses may be required based on patient and program needs.
