[Hiring] Inpatient Coding Auditor @Froedtert

Role Description

The Inpatient Auditor supports the quality and development of the inpatient coding team through coding audits, education, and mentorship. This role has a primary focus on:

• Auditing coding accuracy
• DRG assignment
• Compliance while providing constructive feedback to coders

As proficiency is demonstrated, responsibilities expand to include:

• Onboarding
• Training
• Assisting with developing educational resources
• Serving as a coding subject matter expert

The Inpatient Auditor collaborates with:

• Coding Leadership
• Inpatient Trainer and Education Coordinator
• Interdisciplinary teams

Goals include promoting coding quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across the organization.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of Health Information Management experience in an acute care environment performing inpatient coding with MS-DRG assignment required
• A minimum of 5 years Inpatient Coding experience preferred
• Appropriate education or experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis of three years of progressively responsible inpatient coding experience in an academic medical facility
• Previous auditing, education, mentoring, or precepting experience preferred

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Health Information Management or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management
• Certified RHIA/RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CIC, COC or CPC
• RHIA, RHIT, or CCS preferred
