Role Description
Coordinates and performs tasks to configure biomedical and imaging devices for connectivity, interoperability, and cybersecurity in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and standards.

Collaborates and coordinates with subject matter experts to perform functional checks on biomedical and imaging devices using established electronic test and measurement equipment and techniques.

Collaborates with IT teammates to complete project tasks that require a high-level of coordination with the enterprise project management office, networking, applications, field services, cybersecurity, and Clinical Engineering operations and support.

Coordinates and collaborates with IT project and operations teams on major onboarding projects to complete incoming inspection, inventory, and deployment tasks.

Coordinates installation and testing of new medical devices and/or systems within the scope of Clinical Engineering support.

Performs work on medical devices in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations, applicable codes, standards, corporate policy, and department policy.

Documents and maintains accurate records of all work performed on all equipment by self or a vendor within scope of responsibility.

Assists with projects, as assigned, related to medical equipment, devices, instruments, and systems.

Interacts with manufacturer's representatives to obtain the necessary technical product information.

Reviews technical literature, service manuals, trade publications, and other biomedical service-related documents to stay current with medical equipment related service and regulatory issues.

Participates in both internal and external educational programs through professional associations, technical training courses, and seminars to develop and maintain the required current technical aptitude.

Escalates urgent issues appropriately to the appropriate Clinical Engineering leaders that are beyond their scope of knowledge or responsibility.

Coordinates application or installation of safety alerts and recalls on medical devices.

Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with established process and procedures.
Qualifications

Associateβs degree in biomedical engineering or equivalent experience and training.

2 years of experience in Clinical Engineering in a hospital or healthcare setting.

Subject matter expert in 1-2 areas of clinical equipment technology.

Ability to effectively communicate and partner with internal and vendor partners.

Ability to solve problems by utilizing an array of information from vendors, subordinates, caregivers, and internal partners.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Expertise in preparing and manipulating information in spreadsheets and databases.

Ability to use basic computer software packages (word processing, spreadsheets, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)).

Ability to perform tests and perform basic repairs on a wide array of medical devices.
