Role Description

Sentara Medical Group is seeking a dedicated Hospice Medical Director to provide PRN support for the Peninsula region. This role is ideal for a physician who is interested in contributing in an administrative and clinical oversight capacity within a collaborative hospice care model.

• The Medical Director will play a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance and clinical appropriateness of hospice services.
• Primary focus on the review, approval, and recertification of Certificates of Terminal Illness (CTIs).
• Position partners closely with hospitalists, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary hospice teams to support high-quality, patient-centered end-of-life care.

Position Highlights:

• Fully remote, PRN opportunity offering exceptional flexibility.

• Minimal call responsibilities, with initial triage handled by APPs.

• M.D. or D.O., licensed to practice in Virginia.
