[Hiring] Health Information Management HIMS Technician @Banner Health

Role Description

Looking for a motivated, experienced Health Information Management Tech (HIMS Tech) to join our talented Ambulatory Care HIMS Team. This position has a direct impact on patient care for our ambulatory care clinics and facilitates importing patients' PHI documentation into Cerner. This team works in a variety of functions from document imaging, regulatory, etc.

Location: REMOTE. Supporting BUMG clinics for Phoenix & Tucson.

Schedule: Sun-Thurs 8am-4:30pm OR Tues-Sat 8am-4:30pm.

Ideal Candidate will have at least 1 year experience in medical technology and/or HIMS clearly shown in updated resume.

You will be responsible for:

• Compiling, processing, and maintaining patients' medical records.
• Ensuring all regulatory requirements of Banner are followed.
• Reconciling medical record activity.
• Maintaining records in centralized locations.
• Retrieving charts, scanning, indexing, and validating records.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of health information practices and principles.
• Completion of one or more years of post-high school education in medical records and information systems OR high school diploma/GED with equivalent working knowledge.
• Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written formats.
• Ability to inspect, read, and analyze written material.
• Strong technical skills in the use of software applications and databases.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledgeable and proficient in accessing and utilizing all applicable EHR systems.
