Role Description
As a Health Impact & Equity Specialist, you will be responsible for oversight, administration, development, management, and strategic planning for the AmeriHealth Caritas Pennsylvania Community HealthChoices (CHC) Health Equity and Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) program. The CHC Health Equity and CLAS program works to address disparities, promote health equity and services our diverse racial, ethnic, cultural and limited-English proficient (LEP) memberships.

Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM EST to 5:00 PM EST
Responsibilities:

Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of Department of Health and Human Services (DHS), National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA), Office of Minority Health (OMH) and other regulatory standards related to health equity and Cultural and Linguistically Appropriate Services and activities.

Exercises subject matter knowledge of health equity and addressing health disparities in historically excluded groups.

Develops, submits, and keeps track of documentation required to meet state and NCQA Health Equity Accreditation (HEA) compliance including Annual Work Plan, Year End documents (e.g. Program Description, Program Evaluation and Work Plan).

Collaborates and engages with internal departments and external community organizations to ensure adherence to Health Equity and CLAS program and identifying improvements in language access and equity services for ACFCβs racially, ethnically, culturally, and linguistically diverse membership.

Actively contributes to the development and integration of a health equity framework including culturally and linguistically appropriate communications.

Serves as contributor to Health Education, Outreach and Advisory Committee and solicit recommendations from community groups that are focused on culturally responsive interventions, and health literacy.

Leads in the development, implementation and oversight of projects that involve piloted interventions, initiatives, education, and partnerships that address disparities for our racially, ethnically, culturally, and linguistically diverse members.

Focus area for project interventions includes but not limited to diabetes care, hypertension, maternal health, immunization, quality care and access, and well child.
Qualifications

Bachelorβs Degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Social Work or health related field

Minimum of 5 years of experience in managed care/health care organization preferably in health equity, cultural competency and/or quality management

Strong understanding of health equity, addressing health disparities and cultural competency program development and stakeholder engagement

Experience in aligning healthcare accreditation standards with measurable outcomes

Project management experience

Experience using Tableau desired
