Role Description
The Industrial Hygienist provides environmental, health, and safety (EHS) support by conducting inspections, assessments, and investigations across multiple industrial hygiene program areas. This role ensures compliance with federal and industry standards while supporting construction projects, responding to health and safety events, and providing technical guidance to GSA personnel.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct industrial hygiene inspections and assessments (asbestos, lead, mold, radon, water quality, and indoor air quality)

Collect and analyze samples, interpret data, and recommend corrective actions

Support projects by developing Statements of Work, cost estimates, and reviewing invoices

Review abatement and remediation plans for regulatory compliance and completeness

Provide technical IH guidance for construction, mitigation, and monitoring activities

Respond to IH-related incidents, emergencies, and facility concerns

Perform risk assessments to ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards

Deliver training and technical support to facility and project teams

Maintain certifications and ensure alignment with current IH standards and practices
Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in a science-related field.

Minimum of eight years of progressively responsible industrial hygiene experience aligned with the duties of the position.

Demonstrated knowledge of IH sampling methods, laboratory analysis protocols, and environmental health assessment procedures.

Strong communication skills with experience presenting technical information to non-technical audiences.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and PDF editing tools.

Current State of Colorado certifications: Asbestos Building Inspector, Asbestos Air Monitoring Specialist, and Lead Inspector.

Current OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification with annual 8-hour refresher.

Enrollment in medical surveillance and medical clearance for respiratory protection per 29 CFR 1910.134.

Ability to maintain required competencies, certifications, and licensure in accordance with evolving IH industry standards.

Strong leadership, analytical, and written communication skills.
