[Hiring] Emergency Room Reimbursement Specialist @Franciscan Alliance, Inc.

Role Description

The Emergency Room Reimbursement Specialist evaluates the emergency room visit documentation for accurate and complete charge capture, assessing for gaps in documentation with regards to clinical information, and querying the providers when necessary.

• Schedule: Monday thru Friday | 8 am - 5 pm - Start time is flexible
• Conduct an investigation and assessment regarding payment discrepancies.
• Identify and implement necessary actions to ensure appropriate outcomes are met.
• Conduct and coordinate third party audits.
• Advise and inform management of reimbursement issues.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED - Required
• Associate's Degree Allied Health Profession - Preferred
• 4 years Emergency Room coding/charging, Revenue Cycle, billing experience - Required
• 4 years Emergency Room clinical experience - Required
• No Experience required if candidate holds an active RHIT, RHIA, or CCS Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) - American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) upon hire - Preferred
• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) Candidate - American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) credential obtained within 1 year of hire - Preferred
• Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) Candidate - American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) credential obtained within 1 year of hire - Preferred
