[Hiring] DRG Denial Coordinator @Cook Children's Health Care System

Role Description

The DRG Denials Coordinator is responsible for managing and maintaining the DRG Denials correspondence. Responsibilities include:

• Reviewing and organizing denial letters by third-party payor.
• Accurately analyzing and abstracting key data information into the proper data fields.
• Identifying root cause and financial impact.
• Presenting all payer denial letters to Physician Advisors and CDI Director for review.

Qualifications

• Three years Inpatient coding experience with ICD-10-CM/PCS required.
• In lieu of education requirements, 5 years of acute care or 5 years inpatient coding experience required.
• Strong knowledge of Coding regulations and regulatory compliance experience.
• Associates degree in HIM, Business or related field required.
• Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification required.
