[Hiring] Credentials Specialist @Nemours Children's Health

Role Description

Nemours Children's Health is seeking a Credentials Specialist I to join our team in Wilmington, DE. This position is responsible for:

• Following departmental policies and procedures to collect data for the verification and evaluation of credentials of providers applying for initial appointment and reappointment.
• Serving as the contact point for provider applicants.
• Interacting with medical staff members, medical staff leaders, hospitals, practice administration, and Nemours management.
• Assisting the Department in complying with applicable accreditation standards.
• Maintaining accurate and complete credentials files and databases.
• Identifying potential issues and bringing them to the attention of the appropriate leaders.
• Obtaining primary source verification of professional credentials for applicants to the medical staff and practices in accordance with departmental policy.
• Collecting data and preparing medical staff reappointment files for presentations to various committees and physicians.
• Maintaining the confidentiality of highly sensitive practitioner-specific information.
• Maintaining accurate, complete, and timely information in the credentials software system.
• Assisting in the maintenance of systems to track expiring documents.
• Assisting in the preparation and updating of all required documents.
• Using discretion in preparing reports and releasing such reports containing highly sensitive practitioner-specific information.
• Responding to queries regarding the status of pending applications.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must have an Associate Degree.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience required.
• CPCS and CPMSM Certifications required.
• MD staff experience preferred.
