Role Description
The Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for supporting the credentialing and recredentialing of clinicians, facilities, and locations with commercial payers, Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-party payers within the Orthotics & Prosthetics (O&P) industry. This role focuses on administrative accuracy, compliance, and timely follow-up to ensure providers are properly credentialed and enrolled to deliver patient care and bill for services.

Assist with initial credentialing and recredentialing of O&P facilities with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers

Maintain accurate credentialing records, files, and databases, including licenses, certifications, insurance, and attestations

Support enrollment and updates in systems such as PECOS, NPPES, and payer portals

Track credentialing application statuses and follow up with payers to ensure timely approvals

Communicate professionally with internal stakeholders (clinicians, office managers, billing teams) regarding credentialing requirements and timelines

Ensure compliance with payer, regulatory, and accreditation standards (e.g., ABC, BOC, CMS)

Assist with audits and documentation requests related to credentialing and enrollment

Update provider demographic and practice information as changes occur

Identify and escalate credentialing issues that may impact billing or patient services

Perform general administrative tasks related to credentialing and compliance as needed.
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred

0–2 years of administrative, healthcare, or compliance-related experience

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Basic understanding of healthcare administrative processes (credentialing, billing, or compliance a plus)

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
