Role Description

As a Consultant Occupational Health Physician, you will play a key role in undertaking pension assessments and appeals, providing expert pension advice, and being part of a dedicated pensions team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake pension assessments and produce high-quality reports with clear rationales/justifications
• Produce evidence-based reports and recommendations for eligibility for ill-health retirement benefits
• Stay up to date with relevant legislation, clinical guidelines, and best practices in occupational health/ill health retirement

Qualifications

• GMC registered Occupational Health Physician
• A qualified Occupational Health Physician who is experienced in pension work with AFOM/MFOM/FFOM
• Previous experience in pension assessments
• Proven skills in producing pension reports with a high-quality rationale/justification for the outcome
• Experience in appeal work
• Familiarity and experience working with a range of pension schemes

Requirements

• Strong experience in pension assessments including appeals
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with clients and stakeholders
• A proactive and flexible approach
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities
• Familiarity with relevant workplace health legislation and guidelines (e.g., Equality Act, Health and Safety at Work Act)
• IT literacy and the ability to prepare detailed and professional reports
