Role Description

Provides pharmacy services and ensures the appropriate selection, dosing, administration, and dispensing of medication orders.

• Supports Team 1 within the Oncology/Hematology Specialty Pharmacy.
• Collaborates with pharmacists, nurses, pharmacy technicians, physicians, and payor partners.
• Ensures timely access to specialty oncology medications and high-quality patient care.
• Reviews oncology medication orders and supports oral chemotherapy and anticancer workflows.
• Provides patient counseling and education.
• Answers drug information questions and conducts patient outreach and follow-up.
• Offers strong clinical exposure within a specialized oncology-focused team.
• Emphasizes caregiver development and remote work opportunities after initial onboarding.

This is a remote position after initial onboarding. A caregiver in this role will work rotating 8hr shifts between 7:00am and 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. No weekends requirements or major holidays. On-call expectations are expected.

• Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered, evidence-based medication services.
• Verify medication orders and/or dispense medications accurately according to state and federal regulations.
• Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
• Actively contribute to medication safety initiatives.
• Ensure all pharmacy operations are in compliance with national accreditation standards.
• Direct staff appropriately to provide safe and efficient care and maintain professional working relationships with all caregivers.
• Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers and/or patients.

Qualifications

• PharmD or Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of Pharmacy.
• Current State licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current state within 90 days of hire.
• For individuals required to administer immunizations, Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification obtained within 90 days of hire are required.

Requirements

• Board Certification.
• 1-2 years of oncology pharmacy experience.
• Completion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience preferred.
• Post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or relevant experience preferred for Clinical Pharmacists hired in a Specialized Pharmacy practice area (i.e. Oncology).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform the job while standing and walking for prolonged times, approximately 75% of shift and continuously for extended periods of time.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Position often includes reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps and sitting.
• Must have normal or corrected vision.
• Must have ability to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person.
