Role Description
Responsible for assessing patientβs nutritional status and intervening with appropriate medical nutrition therapy and/or education to improve, maintain or optimize nutritional status.

Provides disease specific management and a working knowledge of oncology principles.

Manages a patientβs diet throughout their chemotherapy and assists with side effects.

Works with patients and families throughout the course of their treatment and beyond to provide an understanding of their disease and their nutrition plan.

Documents the assessment and interventions in real time in the electronic medical record.

Collaborates with the oncologist and clinic staff to assist in managing and coordinating patient care.

Supports the mission of the Company and the Care Management department.
Qualifications
-
Minimum of Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nutritional Services.

Advanced degree or training in the field of nutrition preferred.

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the field of nutrition and at least one (1) year in oncology preferred.

Office experience: procedure entry with experience in insurance and medical terminology preferred.

Attention to detail, excellent math skills, excellent deduction skills.

Ability to work independently, good communication skills, data entry, knowledge of Excel.

Maintenance of Dietetic/Nutritionists licensure and Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Registration in state of employment. CSO preferred.
