Qualifications

• Clinical Coding Qualification (Essential)
• Anatomy and Physiology training (Desired)

Requirements

• Clinical coding experience (Essential)
• Experience in a private healthcare patient administration (Desired)
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
• Anatomy, physiology, and terminology knowledge
• Clinical coding knowledge of ICD-10, CSSA, and SADA rules and guidelines
• Familiarity with relevant coding systems (e.g. ICD-10 books, Latest CCSA coding books, clinical coding system (Encoder), South African Coding Master Industry Table (MIT), and Patient Administrative system)
• Understanding of Clinical Coding and Coding Policies
• Application of SA ICD-10 Morbidity Coding Standards and Guidelines, WHO coding rules and conventions, PHISC IDC-10, and CCSA Coding Standards and Guidelines
• Demonstrate a sound understanding of Professional conduct
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
