Role Description

Blackbird Health is looking for a Child and Adolescent Intake Therapist to join our team remotely in Maryland. You'll conduct comprehensive intake evaluations and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure each patient is connected to the right ongoing care — making a tangible difference in the lives of young patients and their families from day one.

Qualifications

• Experienced clinician with a passion for working with children, adolescents, young adults, and their families using evidence-based assessment practices.
• Skilled in facilitating both in-person and virtual telehealth intake evaluations with strong technical proficiency (Google Suite, EMR systems, virtual platforms).
• Excited to make an impact and driven by patient outcomes from the very first session.
• Proactive problem-solver with strong clinical judgment and excellent communication and documentation abilities.
• Dedicated to high-touch, comprehensive care — not just completing an evaluation, but truly partnering with families and caregivers from the start.
• Collaborative team player who values clinical consultation, feedback, and professional growth.

Requirements

• Independently licensed as an LPC, LMFT, LCSW, or PsyD/PhD in Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or Virginia.
• Possess one (1) year of experience providing individual, direct care to children and adolescent patients.
• Have one (1) year of experience working in a telehealth or virtual setting.
• Own your own phone, computer, and high-speed internet.
• Flexibility to work during Blackbird's core after-school hours: after 4pm ET during the week and/or weekends.

Benefits

• Total Earning Potential: Up to $70,000+ annually.
• Base Salary: $45,000 for a part-time schedule (20 hours/week).

How You'll Make an Impact

• Deliver comprehensive intake evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults (ages 2–26), building meaningful first connections through high-quality, thorough assessment.
• Develop individualized treatment plans that establish a strong clinical foundation and ensure each patient is matched to the right ongoing provider and care approach.
• Invest in first impressions by establishing positive, trusting rapport with patients and families from the very first session.
• Participate in consultation to enhance clinical skills and receive feedback and support.
• Collaborate with specialty providers to ensure seamless care transitions.
• Maintain thorough, timely intake documentation and patient records.
• Involve and advise family members or outside specialists when appropriate during the intake process.
