Role Description
The Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM), APRN provides antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and womenโs health patient care services. The CNM will be expected to:

Provide womenโs health, prenatal, and postpartum care to women in selected clinic settings.

Triage women who present to Labor and Delivery.

Manage the care of essentially healthy women admitted in labor, delivery, and postpartum.

Provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, prescribe medical treatments, and manage health issues for patients independently or in collaboration with designated physicians.

Work autonomously as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage patients' health care problems.

Serve as a health care resource interdisciplinary consultant and patient advocate.

Coordinate the multidisciplinary care of patients, facilitating all necessary consults, assuring that care is timely and appropriate.

Teach aspects of midwifery and obstetric care and services to medical, nursing, and midwifery students.
-
Participate in research initiatives led by the Women and Infants Service Line.
Qualifications

Valid License as an APRN by the State of Arkansas Required.

National Board Certification for Nurse-Midwifery.
-
Prescriptive authority and DEA license is required but may be obtained after hire.

Will consider a new CNM graduate.

The in-person response time requirement is 2 hours.

Demonstrated communication (written and oral), problem-solving, leadership, and collaborative skills.

Strong patient advocacy and patient education skills.
-
This position is subject to a pre-employment criminal background and registry check and drug screen.
Requirements

Provides antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and womenโs health care services.

Performs comprehensive health assessments and establishes diagnoses.

Develops and implements treatment and care plans.

Prescribes medications, therapies, and diagnostic tests within APRN scope.

Triage patients presenting to Labor & Delivery.
-
Manages laboring patients independently or collaboratively with OB/GYN physicians.
-
Monitors fetal and maternal well-being during pregnancy and birth.
-
Provides newborn care during the first 28 days of life.
-
Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, and specialists.
-
Supports evidence-based, low-intervention, patient-centered maternity care.
-
Consults or refers to physicians when complications arise.
-
Documents patient care and maintains compliance with APRN and hospital standards.
-
May perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Information
Salary range: $104,475 - $140,805
