Role Description
The Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM), APRN provides antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and womenβs health patient care services. The CNM will be expected to:

Provide womenβs health, prenatal, and postpartum care to women in selected clinic settings.

Triage women who present to Labor and Delivery.

Manage the care of essentially healthy women admitted in labor, delivery, and postpartum.

Provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, prescribe medical treatments, and manage health issues for patients independently or in collaboration with designated physicians.

Work autonomously and in collaboration with various individuals to diagnose and manage patients' health care problems.

Serve as a health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate.

Coordinate the multidisciplinary care of patients, facilitating all necessary consults, assuring that care is timely and appropriate.

Teach aspects of midwifery and obstetric care and services to medical, nursing, and midwifery students.

Participate in research initiatives led by the Women and Infants Service Line.
Qualifications

Valid License as an APRN by the State of Arkansas required.

National Board Certification for Nurse-Midwifery required.

Prescriptive authority and DEA license required (may be obtained after hire).

Will consider a new CNM graduate.

In-person response time requirement is 2 hours.

Demonstrated communication (written and oral), problem-solving, leadership, and collaborative skills.

Strong patient advocacy and patient education skills.
