Role Description
The Case Manager Summer Intern is responsible for managing all aspects of the enrollment, reimbursement process, and service coordination for patients prescribed medication by physicians. Responsibilities include:

Timely enrollment of patients into the Patient Support Program.

Collaboration with patients, insurers, and physicians regarding necessary documentation for maximal reimbursement coverage.

Reviewing patient status and assisting prescribing physicians in preparing documentation for coverage.
-
Providing therapy guidelines/education to manage patient and physician expectations.
-
Conducting patient financial assessments based on program guidelines.
-
Coordinating and tracking patient services for quick access to therapy.
-
Reporting Adverse Events / Severe Adverse Events (AE / SAEs) following approved SOPs.

Maintaining service levels in case management, including telephone answer rates and time to initial contact.

Updating the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool with timely patient and clinic information.

Promoting teamwork while working with internal patient support teams.
-
Acting as a liaison and providing feedback to the Program Manager.

Identifying obstacles to obtaining coverage and communicating this to the Program Manager.

Completing relevant reports as per specified timelines and standards.
-
Flexibility to work rotating shifts between 8am - 8pm (EST).

Additional duties as determined by the Manager.
Qualifications

Currently enrolled in post-secondary education (College or University).

1-2 years of related customer service experience.

Experience with reimbursement billing, special access, and the appeals process is an asset.

Knowledge of private and public reimbursement structures and processes is an asset.

Must be able to work from home with a quiet, private office space.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Excellent customer service, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.

Effective interpersonal skills.

Strong typing skills and proficiency in various computer-based programs.
-
Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.

High degree of accuracy.
