We are seeking a highly-skilled, experienced Behavioral Health Records Specialist to join our growing team. The Behavioral Health Records Specialist reports to the Behavioral Health Clinical Coordinator and in lieu the Director of Behavioral Health and is a member of the Behavioral Health team. The position involves consistent, quality customer service to both internal staff members and external patients. Responsibilities include:

Gathering information and records for patient appointments

Uploading assessment results in the chart

Assisting with letter and forms process

Creating patient profiles for charting and prescribing practices for our behavioral health (BH) team

Listening to patientsβ requests and taking appropriate action
-
Inputting patient insurance information in the system
-
Creating charts for patients in the prescription system
-
Gathering releases for patient care
-
Sending lab order forms and requests to patients
-
Uploading lab results and/or assessments in the patient chart
-
Ensuring any hospital or primary care records are scanned in the chart if applicable before the first appointment

Documenting patient encounters and providing information to outside facilities referring to behavioral health services
This is a fully remote role with flexible schedule options Monday-Friday (40 hours/week). You must live in one of our 6 states (TN, KY, IN, AL, LA, or MS with preference for TN). The pay range for this position is $12-14/hour.
Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED
-
At least 2 years of experience in records department, front desk, or as office assistant

Healthcare experience in Medical or Behavioral Health preferred

Strong customer service experience

Excellent verbal communication skills

Proven ability to multi-task

Problem solving and critical thinking skills a plus
Requirements

Appropriately record telephone encounters via EHR system

Obtain medical release as needed for patient requested forms

Schedule and confirm appointments for patients if applicable

Collect co-pays or fees for service

Complete knowledge of EHR including updating pharmacy information for patients

Faxing info from EHR

Obtain and scan required documents into EHR
-
Complete knowledge of registering patients
-
Update patient information in the EHR and prescribing system
-
Document and communicate with providers about assessment results and hospital records
-
Respond appropriately to agitated or disgruntled patients

Learn the aspects of compliance in the company by completing all mandatory compliance training

Maintain friendly, cordial relations with all employees
-
Build and maintain friendly, cordial relations with patients
-
Build and maintain friendly, cordial relations with pharmacies, referral sources, and members of the professional community

Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that results in a positive work relationship with patients, co-workers, and managers

Perform the physical, use of senses, cognitive, and environmental functions of the position, as specified on the physical demands
