Role Description

The Behavioral Health Medical Provider - MD/DO Telehealth directs, coordinates, and provides medical/clinical services to specified consumers within the facility, including, but not limited to:

• Intervention
• Psychiatric evaluation and assessment
• Differential diagnosis
• Treatment planning
• Medication management
• Engagement
• Family meetings
• Supportive psychotherapy
• Individual education
• Risk assessment
• Discharge planning

Serves as the attending clinician to specified individuals via telehealth platforms. Responsibilities include:

• Completing initial psychiatric assessments
• Crisis interventions
• Family interventions
• Focused crisis diagnostic assessments
• Assessments of capacity for consent to treatment
• Risk assessments
• Individual education
• Progress towards treatment goals
• Discharge planning including medical, psychological, social, behavioral, and developmental aspects of the consumer’s care

Conducts video consultations or phone assessments to evaluate individual progress and update treatment plans as necessary. Responsibilities also include:

• Documenting all consultations and clinical interactions in the telehealth system
• Providing telehealth-based medication education and consent
• Ordering laboratory tests and reviewing results in collaboration with local labs
• Assessing individual’s needs remotely and guiding the clinical team
• Providing necessary information to the clinical team regarding inpatient utilization
• Utilizing appropriate medication based on best practices
• Collaborating with other personnel to ensure appropriate treatment modalities
• Working with the community to review involuntary petitions and coordinate with the legal system
• Participating in medical staff meetings and any required meetings
• Performing all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Unrestricted Registered Nursing license in the State of Washington
• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a Master’s level certification in Psychiatric Mental Health (PMHNP)
• Licensed by the Washington State Board of Nursing
• Experience in the delivery of crisis mental health and/or delivery of family health treatment to children, adolescents, and/or adults
• Unrestricted DEA license
• Completion of WA-specific telehealth training online before first day

Requirements

• The Company has a mandatory vaccination policy. All successful applicants must be fully vaccinated, including showing proper documentation, or otherwise be exempt pursuant to the Company’s exemption process prior to their start date as a condition of employment
• Complete all credentialing requirements within the required time period, including but not limited to obtaining a National Provider Identifier (NPI), Medallion enrollment, Medicare enrollment, and any other necessary credentials as required for the role
