Role Description

The Behavior Specialist (1, 2) - Virtual is part of the organization’s Telehealth division and is responsible for providing virtual support for the delivery of high-quality psychoeducational groups within Rogers Behavioral Health treatment programs. Critical functions for this role include:

• Virtual rapport building
• Technical support
• Digital health literacy
• Telehealth compliance

The Behavior Specialist is trained to:

• Assess the function of behavior
• Develop & implement individualized plans to address maladaptive behaviors
• Provide training and education to patients and support persons
• Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team
• Monitor progress of behavior interventions and make necessary changes

Job Duties & Responsibilities include:

• Provide virtual psychoeducational groups to patients under the supervision of the Clinical leader.
• Conduct Environmental Context Assessments via video calls.
• Guide patients through virtual skill practice for real-world situations.
• Manage virtual milieu and facilitate group activities.
• Master the virtual care platform's features.
• Provide technical troubleshooting for patients.
• Develop contingency plans for technical disruptions.
• Utilize secure messaging for asynchronous support.
• Virtually observe and provide feedback on patient behavior.
• Develop digital resources to support patient learning.
• Implement and train on a virtual crisis management protocol.
• Participate in supervision sessions with the Clinical leader.
• Document mental health services according to regulations.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.
• Communicate treatment interventions to interdisciplinary team members.
• Offer training support to other direct care team members.
• Provide training and education to parents or support persons.
• Ensure patient and facility safety.
• Support changes in staffing/scheduling as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required (human services, psychology, social work, or related field).
• Must hold a valid Substance Abuse Counselor-in-Training credential (or state equivalent) if working in an Addiction Recovery program.
• Relevant Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment (CBT) experience (12 months preferred).

Requirements

• Compliance with Residential Care Center (RCC) and Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF) standards.
• Training on telehealth platform and technical troubleshooting.
• Additional trainings may be required per unit during onboarding.
