Role Description

The South West Gambling Service would like to recruit Clinical Psychologists or Cognitive Behaviour Therapists. We provide treatment to people experiencing gambling harms as well as their families and significant others, working in a trauma informed manner. These exciting new roles can be based in any location across the South West of England as we are a remote working team.

• Assessment, formulation, and treatment, providing Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Family Interventions, both individually and in groups.
• Working as part of the MDT, participating in relevant meetings and processes, and supporting our wider network of partner organisations.
• Support and training provided as Gambling services are new to the NHS.
• Regular in-person meetings with a strong focus on staff wellbeing.
• Working at least one evening per week according to service needs.
• Opportunities to get involved in research and service development.

Qualifications

• Provide evidence-based psychological therapy in line with NICE guidelines.
• Experience in high-intensity, evidence-based psychological interventions, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.
• Ability to provide consultation, liaison, and clinical supervision to other professionals.
• Experience in clinical audit and service evaluation activities.
• Knowledge in working with people who gamble and promoting expertise in this area.

Requirements

• Comprehensive psychosocial assessments considering safety and suitability for therapy.
• Provide psychological therapy services for individuals and groups.
• Contribute psychological therapy knowledge as part of the MDT.
• Educate and involve family members in treatment as appropriate.
• Adhere to an agreed job plan regarding patient contacts and clinical sessions.
• Ensure timely and accurate recording of all required data.
• Protect patient confidentiality at all times.
• Monitor clinical workload using agreed systems.
• Provide specialist consultancy to multidisciplinary teams and other agencies.
• Participate in clinical and caseload supervision arrangements.
• Attend and chair multidisciplinary/professional meetings as appropriate.
• Carry out clinical audits of service performance.
• Engage in CPD activities to support skill and knowledge development.
