[Hiring] Advanced Practice Sonographer @ACCESS TELECARE

Role Description

Access TeleCare is seeking a PRN Advanced Practice Sonographer who demonstrates a high level of proficiency in diagnostic medical sonography with a focus on maternal–fetal conditions. This role requires strong technical expertise and advanced interpretive skills. The Sonographer is responsible for performing all ultrasound studies and preparing associated documentation and reports under the supervision of an interpreting physician.

• Image review, triage, and draft reports:
  • Review ultrasound examinations and associated sonographer feedback from clinical locations.
  • Provide coaching/feedback to sonographers to ensure the examination is complete and meets essential quality standards for diagnostic purposes.
  • Extend the examination as necessary for quality assurance.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of images and associated examination/patient data.
  • Examine preliminary reports for accuracy and completeness; make corrections as appropriate.
  • Create reports for review by the interpreting physician if no preliminary report is available.
  • Place reports of normal examinations in queue for the interpreting physician.
  • Report examinations with abnormal or concerning results directly to the interpreting physician for expedited review.
  • Deliver examination results to the patient or referring provider as instructed by the interpreting physician.
• Quality Assurance and Education:
  • Responsible for quality assurance (QA) measures with respect to each examination and report under the supervision of the Clinical Program Coordinator.
  • Discuss quality concerns and areas for improvement with the interpreting physician.
  • Conduct education for site sonographers as needed based on quality concerns at each facility.
  • Education may include phone calls, conference calls, video conferences, written feedback, referrals to suggested reading, resources, or courses, educational presentations, protocol instruction or updates, and site visits.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or post graduate degree in management, education, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years’ work experience of live-scanning in MFM office.
• Credentials from ARDMS in OBGYN and Fetal Echocardiography preferred.
• FMF cervical assessment course or complete it within 6 months of hire date.
• Assessment in Obstetrics preferred.
• Certification by the Fetal Medicine Foundation for Nuchal Translucency and Nasal Bone Assessment preferred.
• Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred.
• Proven ability to navigate ultrasound PACs systems for US data and reporting.
• Excellent computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs.
• Proven interpersonal communication skills through various channels.
• Excellent organization and time management.
• Ability to work independently, but function as part of a team.
• Detail oriented.
• Flexibility and willingness to take on new tasks with guidance.

Requirements

• Schedule: PRN, (Mondays/Fridays preferred).
• Hours: Monday-Friday 7am-6pm Central Time.

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
