Role Description

The Adult Telecom Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) provides high-quality, patient-centered telephonic and virtual clinical care for adult patients during overnight hours, weekends, holidays, and other designated coverage periods. The APC is responsible for:

• Assessing patient concerns and triaging symptoms.
• Providing evidence-based clinical guidance.
• Managing urgent and routine healthcare needs.
• Prescribing medications when appropriate.
• Ensuring patients receive the appropriate level of care.

The APC collaborates closely with Registered Nurses (RNs), Patient Service Representatives (PSRs), physicians, specialists, and operational leaders to support safe, efficient, and accessible after-hours patient care.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• Current DEA registration and controlled substance prescribing privileges, as applicable.
• BLS certification.
• Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience in primary care, urgent care, emergency medicine, internal medicine, family medicine, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions.
• Strong communication, assessment, and critical thinking skills.

Requirements

• Prior telehealth, triage, urgent care, or after-hours clinical experience.
• Experience utilizing Epic or a comparable electronic medical record system.
• Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced clinical environment.
