Role Description
As a Strategic Marketing Specialist, this candidate will support market-driven growth initiatives across multiple industries. This role is responsible for identifying and activating marketing opportunities aligned with ABB Electrification’s strategy, positioning ABB as a trusted technology partner.
This is a cross-functional role working closely with commercial, communications, product, marketing, strategy, and external industry stakeholders. The focus is around identifying a market opportunity and turning it into clear marketing activities; supporting the delivery of messaging, campaigns, content, and trade-event experiences that engage customers and support growth.
Location: Preferred: Cary, NC | Open to remote candidates based in the Continental U.S.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Marketing & Planning:

Analyze customer challenges, buying drivers, and decision-making processes to inform market positioning, value propositions, and messaging.

Translate long-term business strategy into go-to-market and campaign strategies with clear objectives and success metrics.

Market & Competitive Intelligence:

Support specific segments with market intelligence, technology trends, customer needs, and emerging applications.

Marketing Activation & Campaign Execution:

Plan, develop, and lead execution of integrated marketing campaigns.

Partner with segment leaders and product teams to identify new business opportunities and support segment-based marketing initiatives.

Develop compelling messaging frameworks and content requirements that articulate ABB’s value across industry lifecycle.

Ensure consistent positioning across digital, events, content, and partner channels.

Industry Engagement & Thought Leadership:

Collaborate with segment leaders, ensuring ABB is represented within key industry organizations at regional and national levels.

Identify opportunities for speaking engagements, panels, white papers, and industry collaboration.

Actively support priority trade events, conferences, and customer forums to strengthen ABB’s market presence.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in electrification, power, digital infrastructure, or related industries, with experience in marketing, product management, segment leadership, or sales.

Ability to organize information and communicate clearly with different audiences.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively across multiple functions and influence without direct authority.

Exhibits a high say/do ratio—sets clear commitments and delivers results with consistency and credibility.

Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.

Ability to travel up to 20% within the U.S.

ABB provides 11 paid holidays. Vacation is provided based on years of service for hourly and non-exempt positions. Salaried exempt positions are provided vacation under a permissive time away policy.

This position is expected to pay between $100,500 and $160,800 annually and is eligible for a short-term incentive plan/annual bonus.
