Role Description
We are seeking a Senior Communications Manager to elevate 1Password's global visibility and reputation as a cybersecurity leader. In this role, you will increase awareness of 1Password's Extended Access Management platform and establish category leadership through:
- Driving media relations
- Contributed content
- Event participation
- Speaking engagements
- Rapid response programs
You will work closely with 1Password cybersecurity thought leaders and executive spokespeople to shape narratives that help 1Password lead the next major shift in enterprise security. Reporting directly to the Director of Communications, this is a remote role within the US or Canada.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in communications, public/media relations or related field
- Deep expertise in enterprise security: A comprehensive understanding of the cybersecurity landscape, including emerging threats, industry trends, and technologies
- Strong, existing connections with key security media outlets and influencers
- Proven ability to develop and execute communication strategies that align with business objectives
- Experience working closely with executive spokespeople to craft and deliver breakthrough cybersecurity narratives
- Ability to translate technical cybersecurity concepts into compelling messages, narratives, and content
- Experience managing sensitive cybersecurity-related incidents from a media relations perspective
- Experience working cross-functionally across marketing organizations
- Ability to swiftly respond to industry developments
- Thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- Capable of managing multiple projects effectively
Requirements
- Develop and maintain relationships with key security journalists and influencers
- Create and direct compelling content, including press releases, blog posts, and executive thought leadership bylines
- Develop media and speaking strategy for industry events
- Lead the development of rapid response strategies to address emerging cybersecurity issues
- Support the Director, Communications & Social Media, in the execution of communications response plans
- Work closely with marketing, product, spokespeople, and external agency partners
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of communication strategies
Benefits
- USA-based roles: Annual base salary between $118,000 USD and $182,000 USD
- Canada-based roles: Annual base salary between $134,000 CAD and $160,000 CAD
