Role Description

The Enterprise Social Media Manager - Content and Storytelling provides strategic leadership for the organization's enterprise-wide social media presence, developing and executing content and storytelling strategies that strengthen brand awareness, drive audience engagement, and advance organizational priorities. Based in Kansas City, this role oversees social media strategy across all enterprise divisions, ensuring a cohesive brand voice while supporting the unique needs of each regional market.

As the enterprise content manager for social media, this position establishes content strategy, identifies opportunities to elevate the organization's digital presence, and collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver impactful, mission-driven campaigns. The Social Media Manager - Content and Storytelling monitors emerging trends, guides content planning and platform optimization, and drives innovation to ensure social media remains a strategic communications channel that inspires lifesaving action and supports organizational growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, Advertising, or a related field required.
• 5+ years of experience in social media, content creation, or digital storytelling (brand, agency, or creator background).
• Hands-on experience shooting and editing short-form video (CapCut, Adobe Premiere, etc.).
• Experience leading content strategy or owning a content calendar at a brand or organization.
• Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to the requirements above that has supplied the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to perform the essential functions of the job.

• Deep understanding of platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn — and how content differs across each.
• Cultural competency and the ability to communicate effectively in a culturally sensitive manner with both individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds.
• Proven ability to develop and execute social-first content that performs.
• Strong storytelling instincts — you know how to find the story and tell it in a compelling way.
• Strong creative point of view — not afraid to bring ideas forward and push for better work.
• Comfortable working both strategically and tactically (this is a player-coach role).
• Highly organized, proactive, and energized by a fast-paced, evolving environment.
