Role Description
The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is seeking an experienced Social Media Manager to join its Digital Strategy Team. In this role, you will develop and implement a social media strategy that strengthens the Academyβs brand and engagement with key audiences, specifically @eatright for consumers and @eatrightPRO for Academy members and professionals. The Social Media Manager will create compelling content for these Academy profiles on multiple social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Bluesky, Threads, X, Pinterest, and YouTube). This position is especially suited for individuals well versed in different social media channels, creative content, community engagement, increasing followers, and ensuring a professional image for the organization.

Develop a comprehensive social media outreach strategy that reflects nuances of various audiences and social media channels.

Craft social media content to develop and grow online presence and loyalty among external audiences, including promotions for Academy programs and services as well as positioning registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs) and nutrition and dietetics technicians, registered (NDTRs) as nutrition experts.

Work with graphic designers to create social media content, including quarterly social media toolkits and campaign-based online toolkits with sample messaging and graphics.

Listen and monitor social media activity and develop weekly reports for internal stakeholders.

Review analytics and develop monthly and quarterly reports on the effectiveness of overall social media strategies, as well as reports as needed for supervisor.

Oversee and develop ambassador programs, including identifying and onboarding participants, creating content, and meeting periodically with ambassadors.

Launch social media ad campaigns for key initiatives and develop reports on ROI.

Continuously explore social media trends and emerging social media platforms and tools; educate others as needed.
Qualifications

Strong communication, analytical, and project management skills.

Demonstrated ability to think strategically and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

Experience managing multiple social media profiles across various platforms using a commercial social media management system (e.g. Sprout Social, Buffer, Hootsuite, etc.).

Bachelor's degree in Social Media Management, Digital Media, Digital Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or other related course of study.

5 yearsβ experience working with social media platforms, developing effective social media content, and reporting on key performance indicators.

Background in professional association or national non-profit environment, graphic design experience, and firm understanding of ADA compliance preferred.

Competitive starting salary range from $70,000 to $80,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
