Role Description
The SEO Specialist oversees the development, strategy and execution of key initiatives to optimize natural search performance across the DSG family of websites. The Specialist works cross-functionally with the Category Merchandising, Production and Marketing Teams to develop content and write customer-facing copy to support day-to-day optimizations and broader company campaigns.
- Ensure that tone and voice remain consistent and reflect brand guidelines.
- Strategically plan a long-term vision for site wide content based on business and user intent.
- Partner with internal teams and external vendors to implement SEO strategies to drive Natural Search traffic.
- Work alongside the SEO Analyst to implement organic marketing techniques & analyze the website for improvements.
- Manage SEO projects throughout the year, including local search, project management, and category audits.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research, benchmark results, and support business-wide campaigns, initiatives, and special events.
- React to product trends in the industry and leverage this information to create and manage a content calendar.
- Write copy for various digital materials including web page copy and long form copy.
- Analyze web and business metrics from multiple sources to develop customer-facing strategies and ensure performance is on track.
- Create & analyze reporting to strategize next steps based on results of data.
- Identify traffic-driving keywords and track keyword rankings across multiple divisions.
- Serve as subject matter expert for the Natural Search channel across assigned divisions.
- Communicate SEO best practices and strategies with cross-functional teams.
- Support the SEO analyst in managing the lifecycle of multiple SEO projects throughout the year.
- Act as the definitive authority on style guide questions from Content Specialists, Production, and Marketing.
- Proof work and execute changes to ensure accuracy and adherence to all style standards.
- Assist in the technical integration of customer-facing content and creative.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or Journalism preferred
- 1 - 3 Years' experience with a minimum of 2 years previous editorial experience in advertising/marketing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Familiarity with Macintosh
Requirements
- Experience in SEO tools and analytics
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
