[Hiring] Search Optimization Specialist @Smart Communications

Role Description

Traditional SEO is no longer enough. Buyers are discovering software through Google Search, AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and other AI-powered experiences. At Smart Communications, we're investing in the next generation of organic search and looking for an organic marketer who is excited to help drive its evolution.

As our Search Optimization Specialist, you'll play a key role in executing and evolving our organic search strategy across traditional search engines and emerging AI experiences. This is a highly hands-on role for someone who enjoys combining technical SEO, content optimization, data analysis, and experimentation to improve how buyers discover our products and expertise.

Reporting to the Director of Digital Marketing, you'll work closely with Content Marketing, Product Marketing, Vertical Marketing, and Creative to execute Smart Communications' search optimization strategy. You'll identify opportunities, optimize existing content, create new search-first content, and ensure our expertise is discoverable wherever buyers search for answers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in SEO, organic search, or digital marketing.
• 3+ years experience optimizing B2B SaaS websites for organic search.
• Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to create high-quality, search-focused content for AI-powered search experiences.
• Familiarity with WordPress or enterprise CMS platforms.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and project management skills.
• Ability to prioritize work independently and manage multiple optimization initiatives simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain search concepts and collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
• Curiosity and enthusiasm for AI-powered search and emerging search technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, or similar.
• Experience monitoring AI search visibility using emerging tools and methodologies.
• Experience developing entity optimization, structured data, and semantic content strategies for AI-powered search.
• Basic HTML/CSS knowledge.
• Familiarity with prompt engineering or AI-assisted content workflows.
• Experience with multilingual SEO, international websites, hreflang tag implementation, and website localization is a plus.
