Role Description
You'll join the SEO team reporting directly to the SEO Team Lead. Your ownership is the growth and quality of the company's backlink profile - from finding placements yourself to managing external vendors. On top of that, you'll support the content team in landing research publications on major media outlets.
The Team Lead owns the link-building strategy. You execute and scale it.
What You'll Be Doing:
-
Self-sourced link placements:
-
Find relevant sites for guest posts, crowd marketing, niche directories, and other formats across HR, business media, and career resources.
-
Negotiate with editors and site owners, agree on placement terms.
-
Vet site quality: DR, traffic, topical relevance, spam signals.
-
Vendor management:
-
Source and evaluate external link-building vendors.
-
Set tasks, track deadlines, and QA every placed link.
-
Maintain a full placement log: site, anchor, date, DR, indexation status.
-
Flag and replace low-quality links.
-
Content team support:
-
Help the content team land research publications on major outlets - Fortune, Business Insider, TechRadar, and similar.
-
Maintain a contact database of editors and journalists.
-
Run Digital PR outreach tied to specific research pieces.
Qualifications
-
1.5+ years of hands-on link-building experience - including self-sourced outreach, not just vendor management.
-
Solid understanding of link quality signals: DR/DA, organic traffic, topical relevance, PBN and spam red flags.
-
Confident use of Ahrefs or SEMrush for backlink analysis and opportunity research.
-
Hands-on experience with outreach toolstack: prospecting tools (Ahrefs Content Explorer, SEMrush Link Building Tool, BuzzSumo), contact finding tools (Hunter.io, Snov.io, ContactOut), and email outreach automation (Pitchbox, Respona, Mailshake, or similar).
-
Experience negotiating placements directly with site owners and editors.
-
Business-level English - all outreach and communication is in English, US market.
-
Clean, reliable tracking habits (spreadsheets or a dedicated tool).
Requirements
-
Nice to have:
-
Experience with US-based HR, career, or business media sites.
-
Experience with CRM-style outreach tracking (e.g. Streak, Lemlist, or a custom Ahrefs/Sheets setup) to manage large-scale campaigns across hundreds of prospects simultaneously.
-
Familiarity with Digital PR and media outreach.
-
Background in job boards, HRTech, or B2C SaaS.
-
Experience with outreach tools: Hunter.io, Pitchbox, Respona, or similar.
