Role Description
CareDx is seeking a strategic, hands-on Marketing Director to lead marketing for NavDx within the Specialty Oncology franchise. This leader will own the integrated brand strategy and execution needed to build awareness, strengthen clinical belief, accelerate adoption, and support consistent utilization of NavDx across the management and monitoring of HPV-driven cancers.
A primary focus of the role will be expanding adoption in both HPV-driven head & neck cancer, while supporting the long-term growth of the franchise through new contexts of use, indication expansion, and broader integration of NavDx across the cancer care continuum.
The role requires a strong understanding of oncology diagnostics, clinical evidence, provider decision-making, and the operational steps required to move from initial awareness to sustained ordering behavior. The Marketing Director will partner closely with various teams to develop and execute strategies that drive adoption, expand ordering-provider reach, increase utilization, and convert market insights into measurable commercial impact.
Responsibilities

Brand Strategy and Annual Planning:
Develop and execute an integrated, insight-driven marketing strategy for the specialty oncology franchise. Own the annual marketing plan and multi-year brand roadmap.

Market Development and Adoption:
Design initiatives that expand appropriate NavDx adoption across priority HPV-driven cancers and care settings.

Commercial Focus and Indication Expansion:
Translate franchise priorities into focused commercial plans for established and emerging use cases.

Customer and Market Insights:
Use quantitative and qualitative insights to identify opportunities, sharpen segmentation, and guide investment decisions.

Positioning, Messaging, and Promotional Execution:
Develop differentiated positioning and compelling messaging for various stakeholders.

Clinical Evidence Translation:
Partner with Medical Affairs and Clinical Development to translate complex clinical and scientific evidence into clear marketing strategies.

Field Enablement and Sales Partnership:
Collaborate closely with Sales and Sales Training to equip customer-facing teams with effective tools and consistent messaging.

Omnichannel and Digital Marketing:
Develop coordinated personal and non-personal promotion that reaches customers with relevant content.

Performance Measurement and Resource Allocation:
Define KPIs and dashboards that connect marketing activity to business outcomes.

Cross-Functional Leadership and Agency Management:
Lead through influence across various departments and provide agencies with clear briefs and actionable feedback.

Compliance and Budget Management:
Lead materials through Medical-Legal-Regulatory review and ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
Qualifications

At least 8-10 years of relevant marketing experience in diagnostics, biotech, pharma, or medical device industries.

Strong background in developing strategic, data-driven marketing plans for complex diagnostic or therapeutic products.

Experience engaging healthcare professionals (HCPs), key opinion leaders (KOLs), and cross-functional teams.

Familiarity with market research methodologies and leading complex research projects.

Experience leading multichannel campaigns, including digital and social media.

Comfortable with budget management and agency collaboration.

Experience in Oncology disease state and a HCP-facing healthcare environment is strongly preferred.

Proven ability to translate complex clinical or scientific data into clear marketing strategies.

A Bachelorβs degree is required, with a strong preference for candidates who hold a BA/BS in Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, or Clinical Science.

An MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.

Benefits

Base salary range: $192,000 - $240,000 USD for remote roles in the US.

Base salary range: $216,000 - $270,000 USD for candidates in Waltham, MA.

Eligibility for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives and restricted stock units.
