Role Description
We’re just getting started with events at OpenRouter, and we don’t want to do boring ones. We’re looking for an Event Marketer that can take ideas, run with them, and turn them into events and experiences people actually want to show up to. This is a hands-on, execution-first role. You’ll work across Marketing, Sales, and EPD to bring ideas to life - whether that’s a scrappy founder dinner, a polished conference activation, or something we haven’t tried yet. If you’re the kind of person who hears “we should do something here” and immediately starts making it real - this role is for you.
What You’ll Do

Run events end-to-end
-
Execute across formats:

Partner and third-party community events
-
Own logistics, vendors, budgets, timelines, and on-site execution
-
Turn ideas into something repeatable
-
Take rough concepts and make them real
-
Build lightweight playbooks and templates as patterns emerge
-
Help us go from one-off events to a program that scales
-
Work across teams and audiences
-
Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and EPD to support key initiatives
-
Help us show up effectively across:
-

Startups
-
AI-native teams

-
Adjust formats and execution based on who’s in the room
-
Coordinate partners and vendors
-
Work with venues, agencies, and ecosystem partners
-
Support co-hosted events with VCs and communities
-
Keep things tight and improving
-
Track what we’re doing and what’s working
-
Help bring structure as we increase volume
Qualifications
-
4+ years of experience running events (startup, tech, or agency)
-
Experience with both:
-
Large conferences / activations
-
Smaller, curated experiences
-
You’re a doer - you move quickly and figure things out
-
Strong operator with attention to detail and follow-through
-
Comfortable with ambiguity and changing plans
-
Good taste - you know the difference between high-signal and forgettable
-
Comfortable with AI-native workflows—you embrace automation and AI-assisted ways of working to move faster
-
Ability to travel regularly (amount will vary dependent upon where the hire is based)
Nice to have
-
Experience with AI, developer tools, or technical audiences
-
Experience producing events for founders, startups, or VP and C-level leaders
-
Experience in fast-moving, low-structure environments
Why This Role

Early role with real ownership and visibility

Opportunity to help build the events motion from the ground up

Work across multiple teams and audiences
-
Create events that people actually remember
Benefits

-
Fully remote team with a strong culture of autonomy and trust
