Role Description

Smart Communications is expanding in healthcare as a strategic growth market and hiring a Healthcare Vertical Marketing Leader to help shape how we grow, where we play, and how we win. This Senior Manager role serves as the healthcare market expert and strategic advisor to Product Marketing, Sales, Demand Generation, Enablement, and Product, translating market opportunity into differentiated positioning, focused investment choices, and measurable business results.

Responsibilities

  • Market Intelligence & Strategic Positioning:
    • Lead healthcare market intelligence and strategic positioning.
    • Identify market opportunities, priority segments, buyer personas, emerging trends, competitive threats, and buyer priorities.
    • Own healthcare-specific value propositions, ideal customer profiles, and messaging frameworks.
  • Sales Enablement & Sales Plays That Win:
    • Develop, launch, measure, and optimize quarterly healthcare sales plays.
    • Equip the field with battlecards, POV decks, objection handling, competitive intelligence, and executive-ready messaging.
  • Campaign Support & Demand Generation:
    • Shape the healthcare marketing strategy by identifying opportunities and prioritizing messages.
    • Partner with Demand Generation and Campaign teams on messaging, briefs, insights, content, and events.
  • Thought Leadership & Market Presence:
    • Represent Smart Communications in healthcare through direct engagement with customers, prospects, partners, analysts, and industry influencers.
    • Build market visibility and thought leadership within the healthcare payer community.
  • Launch Enablement & Product Translation:
    • Translate launches, roadmap updates, and market shifts into healthcare-ready use cases and value stories.
    • Convert trends into differentiated positioning, thought leadership, and practical field guidance.
  • Reporting & Strategic Recommendations:
    • Deliver QBRs with concise business readouts on performance, market opportunities, pipeline trends, and competition.
    • Provide clear recommendations on where to invest, accelerate growth, and correct course when needed.

Success Metrics

  • Consistent contribution to healthcare pipeline creation and influence on bookings growth.
  • Improved healthcare win rates and competitive performance in priority segments.
  • Quarterly launch and adoption of healthcare sales plays.
  • Delivery of healthcare messaging, positioning, and enablement assets adopted by various teams.
  • Increased market visibility through customer engagement, partner collaboration, and thought leadership contributions.
  • Regular identification of new healthcare market opportunities and buyer needs.
  • Timely updates to messaging and positioning reflecting market changes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years in B2B SaaS product, industry, or solution marketing.
  • Relevant healthcare payer, strategy, practitioner, or analyst experience is valuable.

Requirements

  • Strong strategic thinking and cross-functional influence.
  • Experience leading vertical or industry go-to-market strategy in B2B SaaS.
  • Strong executive communication skills and credibility in regulated industries.
  • Alternative consideration for healthcare-focused industry analysts or practitioners with recent experience in digital or AI transformation initiatives.
