Role Description
Modern Health is looking for a Director of Member Marketing to lead the strategy and execution of lifecycle marketing programs that drive member awareness, activation, and long-term engagement across our mental health benefit platform. This is a consumer-first role. Your customer is the member, and success is measured by how well people understand, access, and engage with Modern Health's mental health program.
You'll own the full member journey from enrollment through sustained engagement and think of engagement as a core capability of Modern Health - so it needs to be industry leading. Youβll build omni-channel campaigns that meet members where they are and motivate meaningful behavior change. You'll lead and develop a team of lifecycle marketers and work cross-functionally with product, data, and clinical teams to continuously improve how we connect members to care.
What You'll Do

Own end-to-end member lifecycle strategy across awareness, activation, engagement, and re-engagement stages

Develop and evolve omni-channel member campaigns (email, push, SMS, in-app) grounded in behavioral science and audience segmentation

Build and optimize automated consumer journeys using modern CRM/marketing automation platforms (e.g., Customer.io, Braze, Iterable)

Leverage AI-powered tools to accelerate personalization, improve segmentation, and scale content production β and help your team build fluency in using these tools effectively

Define and track member engagement KPIs; use data to continuously test, learn, and improve campaign performance

Partner with product and clinical teams to translate new offerings into compelling member-facing campaigns

Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing member marketing team; establish clear roles, operating rhythms, and a culture of accountability and growth

Apply behavioral science principles to reduce drop-off in enrollment funnels and sustain long-term program engagement

Support market expansion and new product launches with integrated member marketing strategies
Qualifications

10+ years of marketing experience with significant time in consumer/member-facing lifecycle or engagement marketing roles, ideally in digital health, wellness, or benefits

Proven team leadership: you've hired, structured, and grown marketing teams and know how to develop talent while maintaining executional excellence

Deep expertise in CRM, marketing automation, segmentation, and personalization β you've built and managed complex consumer journeys, not just campaigns

Demonstrated results driving member or consumer acquisition, activation, and engagement metrics

Familiarity with AI-powered marketing tools and a genuine interest in how emerging technology can make member communication smarter and more effective at scale

Experience applying behavioral science or motivational frameworks to marketing tactics

Comfortable operating in a data-driven environment; you can define success metrics and tell the story behind the numbers

Experience navigating platform migrations, or significant operational change is a plus

Background in B2C healthcare, mental health, or employee benefits strongly preferred
