[Hiring] Director, Marketing Operations @Astronomer

Role Description

We're looking for a Director of Marketing Operations to own the systems, data, and processes that power Astronomer's marketing engine. You'll report to the VP of Revenue Marketing and manage a small team (a Senior Manager focused on campaign operations and a coordinator/specialist you'll help hire). This role is equal parts strategic and hands-on:

• Partner closely with marketing and sales leadership to turn data into decisions.
• Build and optimize the infrastructure that lets the team scale.
• The right candidate enjoys both the big picture and the details.
• A Senior Director title is available for candidates with the right experience and leadership profile.

What you get to do:

• Own and optimize Astronomer's marketing technology stack (Marketo, Salesforce, LeanData, and supporting tools).
• Build and maintain marketing attribution models, dashboards, and reporting.
• Partner with marketing and sales leadership for data-backed, strategic decision making.
• Design and implement complex automations and workflows, including AI-powered processes.
• Manage and develop a team of two, fostering a culture of ownership, excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Serve as the go-to expert on marketing data quality, lead management, and lifecycle operations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales Ops and Finance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in B2B SaaS marketing operations.
• Strong command of Marketo (or equivalent MAP) and Salesforce.
• Comfort with deep data analysis.
• A track record of building or significantly improving marketing operations at a growth-stage company.
• Experience managing people and a genuine interest in developing talent.
• Strong strategic instincts.
• A bias toward action.
• Clear, direct communication.

Requirements

• Experience building AI-powered workflows or automations.
• Familiarity with data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery) and BI tools (Sigma, Looker, Tableau).
• Experience with marketing attribution beyond last-touch.
• Background working in data infrastructure, developer tools, or open-source ecosystems.

• Estimated salary ranges from $190,000 - $230,000 based on leveling and geography.
