Role Description
The Digital Strategy Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of content creation, production, and lifecycle for SfN.org, as well as for content marketing and audience analysis. This position involves close collaboration with stakeholders across the organization, volunteer leaders, and external partners. It also has a primary responsibility for identifying market trends in peer sites and CMS feature needs.
Essential Job Functions

Website Management:

Maintain day-to-day ownership of the editorial content strategy and web production pipeline for sfn.org.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders from marketing, membership and program teams to develop content ideas in support of organizational priorities.

Content Marketing:
-
Identify and target key audiences for sfn.org to steer growth and development opportunities.

Define measurable goals for each audience, develop cross-channel plans to reach and engage existing and potential users, and work with Digital Strategy Associate, Digital Communications Manager, and internal stakeholder groups to implement.

Cross-cutting Digital Strategy Initiatives:

Define, track, analyze and report on web metrics, and collaborate with the Digital Communications Manager on social and email analytics, to understand multi-channel reach and engagement for assigned sites and content.

Maintain a digital style guide manual for the organization and lead periodic training sessions for staff to disseminate knowledge across stakeholder groups.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manage a team of one or more people by hiring and developing talent, delegating effectively, communicating expectations clearly, and providing professional development opportunities.
Qualifications

Excellent communication skills.

Demonstrated proficiency with content management systems, web analytics platforms (Google Analytics 4 preferred) and solid understanding of web, social, and email metrics.

Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and similar technologies.

Knowledge of responsive design principles, web accessibility and SEO best practices, and the product development lifecycle.

Passion for digital media - especially for mission-driven organizations - and a keen eye for emerging technologies, including AI-powered tools.

Prior experience with vendor management.

Experience coaching/mentoring early-career professionals.
Requirements

Bachelorβs degree required; degree in communications, journalism, interactive media, digital storytelling, or relevant field preferred.

4+ years of experience developing and implementing digital strategies.

1+ years of supervisory experience.

Experience leading cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams and building coalitions to affect change.
