Role Description
Donorbox is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Content Marketing Specialist. The individual will be primarily responsible for helping further evolve our content marketing strategy - with strong focus on Donorboxβs Nonprofit Blog and Email Marketing efforts. The individual will be focusing on creating impactful, product-focused, and educational content that drives engagement and conversions. This role requires a blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and excellent writing skills, as well as the ability to analyze content performance and adjust strategies accordingly. A strong background in B2B marketing is essential and nonprofit experience is highly preferred.
Responsibilities

Content Development & Management

Research, write, edit, and publish high-quality blog articles focused on fundraising, nonprofit best practices, product education, and industry trends.

Coordinate and manage external writers to support the production of expert-written and thought leadership content.

Assist in the execution of Donorbox's content calendar, ensuring content is delivered on time and aligned with campaign objectives.

Support the development of content for strategic initiatives, including SEO, AEO (Answer Engine Optimization), customer retention programs, and product launches.

Repurpose existing content into additional formats such as email campaigns, landing pages, guides, social content, and customer communications.

Conduct content audits and identify opportunities to refresh, optimize, and improve existing content performance.

Email Marketing & Campaign Support

Build, manage, and optimize email campaigns within ActiveCampaign.

Maintain audience segmentation, contact lists, and automation workflows to support campaign targeting and personalization.

Assist in developing email copy for product launches, promotions, customer education, and lifecycle marketing programs.

Monitor campaign performance metrics, including open rates, click-through rates, conversions, and engagement trends, and provide recommendations for improvement.

Support A/B testing initiatives to continuously improve email performance.

SEO/AEO & Content Optimization

Apply SEO and AEO best practices to content creation and optimization efforts.

Conduct topics research and competitor analysis to identify new content opportunities.

Partner with SEO/AEO and product marketing stakeholders to improve organic visibility and search performance.

Support initiatives designed to increase visibility across both traditional search engines and AI-powered answer engines.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Collaborate with Product Marketing, Growth, Customer Success, and Product teams to develop content that supports company objectives.

Coordinate with designers to develop supporting visual assets for blogs, email campaigns and guides.

Ensure all content aligns with Donorbox's brand voice, messaging framework, and style guidelines.

Reporting & Analysis

Track content and campaign performance using analytics tools and provide regular reporting on key metrics.

Use data-driven insights to identify opportunities for content optimization and audience engagement.

Stay informed about nonprofit sector trends, fundraising best practices, AI-driven search developments, and content marketing innovations.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field.

5-7 years of experience in content marketing, digital marketing, or content writing.

Experience working in B2B SaaS marketing is required.

Experience in the nonprofit sector is highly preferred.

Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with demonstrated experience producing high-quality content.

Experience managing email marketing campaigns and marketing automation platforms (ActiveCampaign experience is highly preferred).

Familiarity with SEO best practices, keyword research, and content optimization techniques.

Deep understanding of AEO, AI search trends, and evolving content discovery channels is a strong advantage.

Experience coordinating freelance writers, agencies, or external contributors is preferred.

Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Analytical mindset with experience reviewing content and campaign performance data.
