[Hiring] Consumer Communications & New Media Manager @OnePay

Role Description

As a Consumer Communications & New Media Manager at OnePay, you will own how the internet talks about us — building relationships with traditional consumer media, the podcasters, Substackers, live show hosts, and new media creators who actually move consumer opinion today. You'll be the connective tissue between OnePay and the voices shaping how people discover and trust us — landing us on the right pages, shows, channels and newsletters, shaping the story, and making sure those conversations land with consumers. This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role for someone who wants to own a program end to end, not just execute a calendar.

• Build and maintain relationships with reporters, producers, podcasters, Substackers, live show hosts, and new media creators across finance, tech, culture and lifestyle
• Pitch OnePay stories and secure placements — reviews, guest appearances, interviews, newsletter features, live show segments
• Manage inbound requests from media outlets and prioritize the right opportunities
• Develop and manage ongoing new media partnerships that extend OnePay's reach with consumers
• Write and edit pitches, briefing docs, talking points, and Q&A prep tailored to new media formats
• Monitor media coverage and sentiment, flagging risks and opportunities to leadership
• Partner with legal and compliance on messaging in a regulated, fintech-sensitive environment
• Represent OnePay directly in interviews and appearances as needed

Qualifications

• 5+ years in communications, PR, or new media/creator relations, in-house or agency
• Active, demonstrated relationships with reporters, podcasters, substackers, live show hosts, and other new media creators
• Excellent writing and pitching skills — you can turn a feature into a story a host or creator wants to run
• Comfort navigating fast-moving, informal media formats (live shows, podcast) alongside traditional press norms
• Drive and proactivity — everyone here is a builder and executor
